(15 Oct 1903, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Charley Jordon (sic) Dead. Charley Jordon, son of Robert Jordon, while working in the Johnson cotton gin last Friday got his right arm caught in a gin stand. It drew the whole arm in and sawed it to shreds. Drs. Watson and Riley and Wade were immediately called. The flow of blood was stopped and amputation took place. The relapse from the shock to his system was so great that he could not recover and died within a few hours. He was a good citizen, and may friends mourn his departure and extend their sympathies to his bereaved wife and child. (Burial at Ural Cemetery). --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
