Dunn and Slack of Crawford (Roger Mills County) were partners in the cattle business. Last Thursday Dunn killed Slack as they were returning from Strong City. It seems they had desolved (sic) partnership, and had been to town that day, trying to fix up the papers. Returning home, so says Dunn, he remarked as they could not agree on a settlement, that they would have to have a receiver appointed. He said at this Mr. Slack pulled out a gun and pointed to him saying that "this will settle it." Dunn then shot him, killing him. He sent word to the sheriff and hid out, but was afterwards found. Dunn is married. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
