(5 Aug 1926, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK):
LAWSON TAKES LIFE - BULLET GOES THRU HEAD.
C. E. Lawson, well known and prosperous farmer of the Jester community
took his own life Wednesday morning about 9 o'clock by firing a 38 caliber
bullet through head.  Lawson it seems had been brooding over some trouble
his boys and boy friends were connected with, until the matter drove him
to a stage of insanity.  This is thought to be the cause of him taking his
life, as relatives know of no other reason that would cause him to have
committed such an act.  The bullet pierced the head just above the left
eye and came out about the center of the back of his head.  He died
instantly with his hat in one hand and the gun in the other.  He was
seated under a peach tree in the rear of his yard.
