(10 Aug 1904, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Word reached town Saturday of the drowning of two young sons of W. A. Ledbetter near the Mack Teel place on Boggy Creek. The boys went swimming Friday afternoon sometime. They failed to come home when they were expected and the family became alarmed. On going to the creek they found their clothes on the bank near a deep hole. They dragged the creek for several hours before they recovered the bodies, which they finally did, in this water. The boys were aged ten and twelve. - Beacon. The father of these unfortunate boys is a brother of John Ledbetter who lives from (sic) miles east of here.
