Fry boarded and roomed in the hotel and it is asserted, was paying improper attentions to the proprietors wife. Immediately after the murder, Leedy left town and was followed by a number of citizens armed, who, finding him in a canyon north of town, and, on his attempting to run away from them shot and killed him. His body was brought to town and an inquest held over both at one time. Fry was warned of the danger to his life if he remained in Weatherford, and promised to leave.
