(26 Dec 1929, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
THREE ARE KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT NEAR STRONG CITY
On last Sunday one of the greatest accidents that ever happened in this
county (Roger Mills) occurred near Strong City, when a truck overturned
killing a mother and two daughters.  According to the story, it seems that
Mrs. John T. Murray and her two children were returning to Muskogee after
having resided near Strong City during the past year.  Mack Murray, a
brother-in-law was driving the truck when for some reason it stalled going
up a hill just after leaving the farm where they had resided.  As it
stalled it started backwards, finally overturning and pinning the family
under the truck.  Mrs. Murray and two of the children were killed
instantly and another daughter sustained serious injuries.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 Monday afternoon for the three victims
of the accident.
