Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Nevius of Borger, Texas, formerly of Elk City, received a message Sunday, May 27, from Long Beach, California, that their son, Russell Nevius was accidentally killed. He and Mrs. Neivus (sic) and a neighbor and wife were on the highway, when they had tire trouble. While fixing the tire, a nineteen year old boy, who had been drinking, ran into the two men, they were rushed to a hospital where Russell died one hour later. Russell was 35 years old the 25th day of May 1928. He leaves his wife, mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Nevius of Borger, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Deborah Smith of Erick; a brother, A. J. Nevius of Houston, Texas, and a host of friends and other relatives. He lived a greater part of his life on a farm north of Hammon. Mr. and Mrs. Nevius have many friends in Elk City who will be grieved to hear of their sorrow. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
