(12 Oct 1916, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): SHOOTING NEAR HAMMON Last Saturday night at the home of N. B. Parks, five miles northeast of Hammon, a dance was being held. Bill Williamson, Tom Fuller and another young man named Allen, went to the dance, though not invited and being under the influence of liquor acted in such a manner that they were ordered to leave, when Williamson shot Mr. Parks. The bullet went in at shoulder, lodging above lung near jugular vein. His wound is considered quite serious and he is now in the Clinton hospital. The citizens on learning of the deed, formed a posse to look for the young man and F. E. Herring, who was at his ranch, found Williamson and Allen near his place and put them under arrest. They are now in the Arapaho jail.
