M. PEASE KILLED AT HOLLIS LAST THURSDAY. Lawrence, the nine year old son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Pease, of Hollis, was riding a pony with another school mate last Thursday afternoon when it shied, throwing Lawrence under the pony. No one knows just what happened then, whether the pony kicked him in head, or the fall injured him but he was hurt so seriously that he died in a few seconds. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Hollis (Harmon County). Those attending from Elk City were Mr. and Mrs. Amos Williams, Mrs. Sam Williams and Mrs. Sam Crabtree and daughter, Bethel. They said the Baptist church was filled to overflowing with sympathizing friends, school being dismissed and the scholars attended in a body. There were banks of flowers. Mr. and Mrs. Pease formerly lived in Elk City and have many friends here who extend their deepest sympathy to them. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
