C. Proctor, of Sentinel, Oklahoma, ran over little Inez Riefkohl, daughter of Mr. and Mr. H. C. Riefkohl, of the Farmers' Co-Operative Store, of Fourth street. The accident is said to have been unavoidable. The street is rather narrow and cars were parked on either side of the street, and just as the car driven by Mr. Proctor approached, the little girl ran out in front of the car. She was knocked to the pavement and the car passed over her little body. When the child was picked up she was unconscious and physicians found that her skull was fractured. The child died Monday morning about 9 o'clock without regaining consciousness. Mr. Proctor was driving slowly and did everything in his power to prevent the accident. Following the accident he did everything he could to assist the child and the grief stricken parents. He requested the parents to telegraph him the condition of the child to his address at Sentinel, Oklahoma. Accidents of this nature are indeed very sad, and it is very necessary that both parents and city officers use every precaution to prevent the reoccurrence of such accidents in the city. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church, Tuesday, May 6th, at 11:00 a.m. Interment was made in the Sayre-Doxey cemetery.
