ROLFING, ROY S.
(31 Jul 1924, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
KILLED BY LIGHTNING
The Canute correspondent tells of the death by lightning of Mr. Roflin
(sic) at Weatherford.  Mr. Roflin married Miss Sina Hays, well known to
many of our people and who was at one time a correspondent of the News
Democrat from Canute.  The funeral services were held at Weatherford
Sunday, Mr. Dray of the News Democrat being in attendance.  The Cordell
Masonic lodge had charge of services.
CANUTE Community News:
Mr. Rofflins (sic), a son-in-law of Jim Hayes (sic), was struck by
lightning Thursday evening about six o'clock while he and two other men
were sitting in the barn door.  It killed him instantly but the other men
escaped unharmed.  Mr. Rofflin lived north of Weatherford.
