All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ SCHOOLER, AUBREY JOE (2 Aug 1930, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services for Aubrey Joe Schooler, four-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Lander Schooler, of Spearman, Texas, who was killed almost instantly when struck by an auto in Dalhart, Texas, yesterday, were held in the Church of Christ here at 4:30 this afternoon. Earl Craig, pastor of the church here, read the rites. The child was born in Elk City February 12, 1926. He moved with his parents and sisters to Spearman in January of this year. The accident which caused the child's death was regarded as unavoidable by the parents, relatives here said today. Aubrey Joe was playing near Highway 66 in Dalhart and started across the road just in time to step in front of a machine. He died almost instantly. The body arrived in Elk City about 2 o'clock this afternoon. Services were conducted two hours later. Surviving the child are his parents and two sisters, Onlee, 14 and Helen Ruth, 11. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Donham and Mrs. M. E. Schooler, grandparents of the child live here. Aunts and uncles are: Mrs. O. D. Maddos, Mrs. F. F. Kenner, Mrs. Myrtle Belknap, Mrs. J. P. Haynes, of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. C. T. Durchett of Buffalo, Joe Donham, Lewis Donham, Ray Schooler and Elmer Schooler.
