All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ SEARS, OPAL (1 Mar 1928, Sayre Headlight, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): AUTO ACCIDENT CAUSES DEATH Four Young People in Wreck When Buick Coupe Overturned. Misses Opal Sears, Della Castleberry, and Edgar Madison and Clem Scott were the victims of a serious accident last Wednesday evening when the Buick coupe in which they were riding overturned near the Doxey-Sayre cemetery 3 miles east of the city. Miss Sears and Scott received serious injuries and were rushed to an Elk City hospital, where Miss Sears only lived a short time. While Scott's injuries are very serious, he has a fighting chance for recovery according to hospital attendants. The funeral services for Miss Sears were held at Baptist church in this city at 11 o'clock (remainder of sentence to dark to read). Miss Opal was the daughter of John Sears of this city and was a lovable young lady and the report of her death was a shock to the entire community.
