(22 May 1924, Beckham County Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): A Sad Accident. Our community was shocked last Friday to learn that Mrs. W. R. Seely was killed in an automobile accident about seven miles east of Erick. In company with her husband and son, they were on their way to Sayre, when Mrs. Seely noticed that one of the rear wheels was about to come off, and she became excited and jumped from the car, the fall inflicting injuries, from which she died in about three hours. Mr. Seely also jumped from the car and was injured, but not fatally. Funeral services of Mrs. Seely was held at the Erick cemetery last Saturday. The family have the entire sympathy of the community. --------------------------------------------------- Return to Beckham County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/beckham/beckham.html
