SHORT, CHILD
(8 Nov 1917, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
BURNED TO DEATH
A little six year old child of Calvin Short near Merritt, was playing out
doors where the mother was washing Wednesday of last week, and the little
one's clothes caught on fire, burning her so badly that she died that
evening.  It was a very sad accident, and the sympathy of neighbors and
friends were extended to them and everything done to assist them in their
terrible sorrow.
