TAYLOR, CARL LEWIS
(29 Nov 1923, Thursday, Elk City News Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK):
Carl Lewis Taylor, a young man 22 years, living five miles south of Canute
committed suicide last Sunday morning by shooting himself in the left
breast with a shot gun.
He had gone to the house and told them he was going out to catch a horse. 
As he did not get back they called him and getting no answer a young man
went out to hunt for him, finding him mortally wounded, being in cotton
patch over the hill from the house.  He lived two hours and while he gave
no reason why he did the deed, he said he did it on purpose.  He was
married to a daughter of Jack Smith.
Funeral services were held Monday and his body interred in Port cemetery
(Washita County, Oklahoma).
