All rights reserved. http://www.rootsweb.com/~usgenweb/copyright.htm ************************************************ WELLS, EBB (4 Oct 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Funeral services for Ebb Wells who died at Forgan, Oklahoma, September 28, 1928, were held in Elk City Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, with Rev. Carl V. Covey, pastor of the First Christian church conducting the services. Mr. Wells was the youngest son of Mrs. G. A. Wells of Elk City, and was well known here. Mrs. Wells has been a citizen of Elk City for the past twenty years. During the past six years Mr. Wells was engaged in the bakery business at Forgan, Okla. His death was caused by an automobile accident which occurred near Beaver, Okla. Relatives who survive Mr. Wells are his widow, Mrs. Ebb Wells; one son, Jack Wells; his mother, Mrs. G. A. Wells; one brother, William Wells of Talihina, Okla., and four sisters, Mrs. Mable Bonds, Mrs. Lillie Turbyfil, Mrs. Laura Smith and Mrs. Ollie Fahay of Elk City. Interment was made at Fairlawn cemetery, Elk City. Grubitz & Son had charge of arrangements for the funeral. (1 Nov 1928, Elk City Newspaper, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Mr. Ebb Wells of Forgan, received injuries in an automobile accident Thursday morning, September 27, which later proved fatal. The accident occurred 1 1/2 miles south of Beaver. Mr. Wells was driving a light Ford car and was returning from taking broom corn hands to the country. The car turned over two or three times throwing Mr. Wells some thirty feet, from the car and when found by Ermal Barker and Frank Shockley was in a dazed condition. He was brought to Beaver by Ermal Barker, where he was given medical attention and taken to his home in Forgan by Clifford Goodner in his ambulance, where he died Friday morning from concussion of the brain and other injuries. The body was shipped to Elk City where burial was made Monday. Mr. Wells was about 38 years old and leaves a wife and 17 year old son to mourn his loss. - Beaver County Herald. His mother, Mrs. G. A.
