(6 Feb 1907, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): A FATAL ACCIDENT Tuesday morning Weaver and Jerry West left town on horse back to bring some cows which their father owned and were on a farm a few miles from town. When a short distance from town the horse which Weaver was riding became unmanageable and started to return to town. He called to his brother to come and help him manage the horse. When Jerry came up to his brother the horse left the road, stumbled and fell, the unfortunate young man falling so as to be under the weight of the horse. The victim of this unforeseen accident was a good boy, respected, and trusted by all of his many friends, and was yet in his teens. The family have the sympathy of all their neighbors and acquaintances. (7 Feb 1907, Thursday, Elk City Democrat, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): A Sudden Death.
