(16 Aug 1911, Wednesday, Elk City Record, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Hutchinson, Kas., Aug. 11. - The body of Roy R. Wiley, an electrician, 35 years of age, was found in his home here this afternoon by a collector. Wiley had been dead for at least two days. Several whiskey bottles and one of carbolic acid told the story. The dipper and water bucket smelled of acid. Wiley's wife left him last Monday. He was last seen alive on Wednesday. - Kansas City Star. Roy Wiley will be remembered by most of Elk City as the man who kept a bicycle and repair shop where Hubbard's blacksmith shop is now located.
