G., Sr. (16 Dec 1948, Thursday, Sayre Sun, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Golden Wedding Anniversary Observed By Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Anderson, sr., at Home In Roger Mills County, Sunday, November 15. (Family photo included) The Golden Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. (sic) Anderson, sr., was observed with a family dinner at noon and open house for their friends Sunday, November 14 (sic) at their home at Sweetwater, Oklahoma. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were married in Altus, Okla., in 1898 where they homesteaded. They came to Sweetwater in Roger Mills in 1906 and have resided there all their married life. They are members of the Presbyterian church and the parents of six children. They include Mrs. A. H. Wilson of Sweetwater, Mrs. Bill Cotts, Sweetwater, Mrs. Jack Stanley of Hollywood, California, Wade Anderson, Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Paul Steward, Weatherford, J. G. Anderson of Sweetwater. Mrs. Anderson before her marriage was Mattie Jennings and she is a member of the Meridian Home Demonstration Club. Mr. Anderson is a past member of the Woodmen of the World and pioneer member of Meridian school board. The lace covered wedding cake topped by a miniature bride and groom was served from a lace-covered table. Baskets of gold and bronze mums and chrysanthemums were arranged throughout the house. Numbers of traditional wedding music played before noon were by Mrs. Paul Steward of Weatherford. In the afternoon, Mrs. Joe Myers, of Frederick, played musical selections. The brides guest book was presided over by Mrs. O. K. Henson, jr. Those in charge of the serving were two grand daughters, Mrs. Edmond Logan, Mayfield, and Miss Evon Cotts, Sweetwater. The couple received many lovely gifts. In attendance were Mr. and Mrs. Ertis Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Cotts, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Steward, Weatherford, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Anderson, jr., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson and grand daughter Julia Ramsey, Denton, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Fowler, Peggy and Patsy Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Fowler, Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Johnson and son, Tulia, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Kelley, Mrs. Nora Baker, Altus. Mr. and Mrs. O. K. Henson, jr., and T. Carolyn, Mrs. Cynthia Fowler, Pamela Barrymore and Stevan Barrymore, of Pasadena, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. A. H.
