ANNIVERSARY.
DENNIS, JOHN WESLEY (1866-1945) & SUSAN ELIZABETH LOWRANCE (1864-1952):
(8 Jan 1914, Thursday, Sayre Standard, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK):
IN HONOR OF MR. AND MRS. JOHN DENNIS.
The fine dinner which was given in honor of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Dennis's
twentieth wedding anniversary, December 28, 1913, will never be forgotten
by those who attended.
The dinner we all enjoyed was the greatest and finest we have ever been to
since living in Oklahoma.  Many dinners have I been to in many states, but
this one beats them all.
Mr. and Mrs. Dennis received some nice presents, among them were glassware
and china.  Miss Nettie Roberts gave to her little name-sake, Miss Levelle
Morene Dennis, a beautiful gold band ring, which was appreciated very
much.
After dinner we all had another feast.  This one was on the goodness of
God's mercies.  Our souls were lifted into the love of the lord and our
hearts were made to rejoice.
There were about eight-five of us there.  We left at a late hour.  Mr.
Dennis asked all who were present to come back next 28th of December and
enjoy another dinner like the one he had just given.  All left, expressing
themselves as having had the best and nicest time of their life.  A
FRIEND.
