(23 Sep 1948, Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): In their home at 216 North Jefferson, Saturday afternoon from two until five, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Elliott celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary with open house. Their home was beautifully decorated with cut flowers. The refreshment table was covered with a lace cloth and fall flowers and candles were the focal point of the arrangement. Presiding at the punch bowl was Mrs. S. T. Royse, and she was assisted by two of the Elliott's granddaughters, Mrs. Garland Campbell and Mrs. Lee Hall. At the guest book was Mrs. J. B. Bryan and Mrs. C. S. Hunt. Pictures were taken during the afternoon. All five of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott's daughters were present. They included Mrs. C. C. Bass, Bristow; Mrs. J. B. Ellis and Mrs. V. A. Brown, Beggs; Mrs. Rex Campbell and Mrs. Ray Wilson of this city. Their sons were unable to attend. The couple was married in Gallentine, Tennessee, on September 18, 1890, and they have eight children living. They are Mrs. C. C.
