GALLOWAY celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary at their home on South Main Street. All of their six children and some of their friends were present at the celebration. "Uncle Will and Aunt Kate" as they are known, have lived in Erick since 1901. They have seen Beckham county make the change from a lonely cow pasture to a lovely place in which to live. They were married in Anderson county, South Carolina, residing there for 12 years, then moved to Hill county, Texas before coming to Erick. Mrs. Galloway is the former Katie Harris. "Among these fine people of Erick," Mr. Galloway said, "I find a splendid place to live and build, I am proud of my friends here. I don't think there is a better place to be found. Long live the memory of this anniversary." Those who paid honor to the Galloways Friday were Mr. And Mrs. W. L. Galloway and two of their children, George of Oklahoma City and Eldean of Erick; G. A. Galloway, his wife and children, Monta Will and Dick Todd; Mrs. H. S. Moss and Mr. Moss; A. B. Galloway, Mr. And Mrs. J. E. Galloway and daughter Billy Earl, of Oklahoma City; Charlie Galloway and wife and daughters Phyllis Jo and Jackie; Rev. and Mrs. D. D. Barber, Miss Mae Plunk and John A. Morgan. Three grandchildren were unable to attend Mrs. Clarence Warkins of Missouri and Clara and Neva Galloway of Liberal Kansas. The children presented each of their parents with a lovely rocking chair. In speaking of the occasion, Rev. Barber said, "The day was spent in happy fellowship. It is truly a blessing to visit this fine home on any occasion, but on this day of days it was a wonderful privilege and blessing. We wish these good people many happy anniversaries in the future. May the choicest blessings be theirs continuously and their children's and children's children."
