(27 Jan 1938, Thursday, Erick Democrat, Erick, Beckham Co, OK): The sixtieth wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Jennings of Meridian was celebrated in their home Sunday, January 23. Mr. Jennings is 84 years old and Mrs. Jennings is 81. All their children were with them to spend the day and all of the grandchildren were there during the afternoon. The five daughters of the elderly couple, presented them with a large cake beautifully decorated in pink and white and bearing the wedding 20 Sep 2009 and names, Elizabeth Key and Jim Jennings. Pink and white carnations were used in the table decorations. In the afternoon the group enjoyed singing and other entertainments. Ernestine, Imogene, Alma and Willene Jennings, granddaughters sang several good numbers and the entire group joined in singing several numbers. Favorite numbers of the couple were sung, "Golden Wedding Day," being a featured number.
