"BUD" (29 Oct 1961, Sunday, Elk City Daily News, Elk City, Beckham Co, OK): Married Fifty Years. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. "Bud" Jones of Sayre will observe their Golden Wedding Anniversary Sunday, November 5, from two until five o'clock in the afternoon in the REA shedroom in Sayre. C. W. Jones and Cordie Rogers were married November 5, 1911, in the home of her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Rogers of Carter, with Rev. C. A. Martin, minister of the Methodist church in Carter, officiating. They lived near Carter until January 1942 when they moved on their farm north of Sayre. In 1948 they moved to Sayre. They are the parents of two daughters, Mrs. Cuba Lee Pounds and Mrs. Charlie Stevens, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Hostesses at the event will be their daughters, Mrs. Pounds and Mrs. Stevens, their granddaughters, Mrs. LeBerra Crane and Miss Elain Stevens and their great granddaughter, Marca Lea Crane. A cordial invitation has been extended to all their friends and relatives to attend the celebration. Cordia came from Wise county, Tex., in 1897 with her parents, the late T. W. and Mattie Rogers, and settled on a farm southeast of Sayre on Indian Creek. C.
