The house was nearly filled with invited guests and relatives. Rev. Wolfe pronounced them man and wife for another 50 years, congratulations were received by the youthful looking groom and bride. Hearty in deed were the hand shakes and congratulations of their friends. Dainty refreshments were served. Slices of ice cream in the shape of hearts were certainly appropriate for the occasion while the contents of the punch bowl seemed to touch the right spot. The little bow of golden colored baby ribbon pinned on each guest as a souvenir of the occasion was also appropriate. Mr. and Mrs. Nichols were the recipitants (sic) of many presents in gold, from friends and relatives, forks, vases, clock, mirror, gold handled umberella (sic), brooches, cuff buttons, and best of all, the real coin of the land, in all over $100, $30 of which was from the Masons and $50 from their children, Fred Nichols and wife of Elk City, Mr. and Mrs. Luther of Chicago, Chas. Hocker of Purcell and Dr. Roland of Eakely were the outside guests present.
