Mr. And Mrs. J. W. RICHARDSON will quietly celebrate their sixty-second
wedding anniversary, in their home, Friday, March 31st.
Both Mr. And Mrs. Richardson are pioneers of Erick, having moved here in
1901 and have lived here ever since.
Mr. Richardson was born in Jasper County, Missouri, September 21, 1848,
moved to Parker County, Texas with his father in 1856, and then to Greer
County, Oklahoma in November 1900. He was married to Eliza Pritchett,
March 31, 1871, at Gonzales, Texas. To this union, twelve children have
been born. Those living are: Mrs. Lou Precure, Oklahoma City; Ira
Richardson, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Anna Vandiver, Ft. Worth, Texas; Moses
Richardson, Cordell, Oklahoma; Mrs. Lonie Webster, Dalhart, Texas; Mrs.
Carrie Walkup, Amarillo, Texas; Mrs. Eula Thompson, Ft. Worth, Texas;
Elbert Richardson, Austin, Texas; Mrs. Docie Bennett, Erick, and Mrs. Vera
Freeman, Oklahoma City.
There are also 30 grand children and eight great grand children, all living.
The couple have been members of the Church of Christ since 1909.
Mr. Richardson is now 84 years old and works every day at his bench as a
shoe cobbler without the aid of eye glasses.
This is indeed a splendid record for these fine people and the Democrat
joins their friends and relatives in hoping that there will be many more
such occasions.
