All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== SCHWER, ED (11 Nov 1954, Thursday, Sayre Sun, Sayre, Beckham Co, OK): Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schwer Celebrate Golden Wedding Anniversary Here The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schwer, 311 North Broadway, was observed Sunday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. with open house for friends and relatives. Pioneers of western Oklahoma, Mr. Schwer is a native of Salisbury, Missouri, settling at Cheyenne in 1901 and Mrs. Schwer, a native of San Antonio, Texas, came to Cheyenne in 1900. Married at Cheyenne October 27, 1904, the couple are the parents of three children, Gene Schwer, Henderson, Nevada, Mrs. T. J. Volturo, Sayre, Mrs. J. W. Vaughan, Oklahoma City. Their grandchildren are Charles Schwer, Long Beach, California, Mrs. Jimmy Childs, Henderson, Nevada, Mark Allen Vaughan, Oklahoma City, Charles, Tommy and Judy Volturo. Great grandchildren Linda and Allen Schwer, Long Beach, California, Jimmy and Chuckie Childs, Henderson, Nevada. They attend the First Presbyterian church and Mrs. Schwer is a member of the Royal Neighbors. Mr. Schwer retired from employment with the Rock Island railroad in 1946. He began working for the railroad in 1910 with some service at Haleyville. The refreshment table was laid with a lace cloth and was centered with a floral arrangement of gold mums flanked with yellow tapers. Mrs. A. J. Boney presided at the cake and Mrs. T. J. Volturo and Mrs. J. W. Vaughan presided at the coffee service and punch bowl. Gold wedding bells topped the cake. Mrs. J. T. Hamby presided at the guest book. Yellow chrysanthemums enhanced the table.
