E. Throckmortons To Have Seventieth Wedding Anniversary Former long-time residents of Beckham county, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Edmond Throckmorton of Enid, will observe their 70th wedding anniversary Tuesday, August 18. Coming from Johnson county, Tex., in 1893, the couple filed on a claim in Washita county near Bessie. They later came to Beckham county, where they engaged in farming first on the Elmer Cruse place on Indian Creek. In 1923 the family moved to Zavella county, Tex., then to Blackwell in 1927. They have made their home in Enid since retiring in 1941. Mr. Throckmorton was 89 years old on March 11, and Mrs. Throckmorton will be 89 on her birthday, Sept. 8. They are the parents of four sons, Verlie of Prescott, Ariz., Paul of Carter, L. D. of Floyd, N. M., and John of Garden City, Kans.; and four daughters, Mrs. John Sutton, Seaside, Calif., Mrs. Harley Estes, Arkansas City, Kans., Mrs. Alta King and Mrs. Carl R. Smith, both of Enid. Three daughters, Mrs. G. G. Witherspoon, Mrs. W. F. Weaver and Gertie Throckmorton, are deceased.
