J. WELLS celebrated their Twentieth Anniversary. Invitations were sent out last week notifying their many friends of the event, and extending a cordial invitation to be present and enjoy the evening with them. The beautiful home and their spacious lawn was well decorated and lighted for the occasion. At 8 o'clock the guests begin to arrive, bringing with them loads of hand painted china. Miss Era Wells, assisted by Miss Addie Maloy received the guests in true southern style. About 9:30 the wedding march was played by Miss Era Wells, and the Dr. and his dutiful wife marched up to the supposed altar, where Father Lowrance made some appropriated remarks in his usual masterly way. After the wedding march refreshments were served, consisting of punch, ice cream and cake, which was enjoyed immensely by all. Then came music and old time games. At 11 o'clock the guests began to take their departure, wishing Mr. And Mrs. Wells a long, happy and prosperous life. The Dr. and Mrs. Wells were among the first people to come to this community, and probably not another family in this part of the country have as wide acquaintance, or as many friends as the Dr. and his family. They have built up a friendship here that is everlasting. The Democrat extends congratulations to them on reaching this their twentieth anniversary, and may they in future life have no cloud to mar their happiness is our wish.
