Ruth Elizabeth Blenden

PLAINVIEW - Ruth Elizabeth Blenden, 102, of Hale Center, died Wednesday, 
April 28, 1999.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in IOOF Cemetery in 
Watonga, Okla., with Brad Blenden, her grandson from Amarillo, 
officiating. Arrangements are by Wood-Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview.

Mrs. Blenden was born in St. Louis and lived in Lockney from 1940 until 
1952. She then moved to Andrews and Oklahoma. In 1986, she returned to 
this area after living in Bloomfield, N. M., for 10 years.

She married Harry E. Blenden in 1919 at Gainesville. She was preceded in 
death by her husband in 1967 and by an infant son.

Survivors include two sons, Easton Blenden of Lockney and Dick A. Blenden 
of Carlsbad, N. M.; a daughter, Sue Thornton of Farmington, N. M.; 11 
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity.
