She was a retired Librarian. She was born in Greenfield, Oklahoma to Fred and Merle Sanders. She married Leonard Bowen in 1936 and they established their home in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Before moving to New Mexico and later settling in the Delano area in 1952. She is Survived by her loving family, including her husband Leonard Bowen; Daughter Joan Frazee of Bakersfield; Sons and Daughters in Law; Robert and Julie Bowen of Santa Fe Springs and Kevin and Antoinette Bowen of Visalia, five Grandchildren and four Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Donald Bowen. She was a faithful and dedicated member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of McFarland since 1952. Even though she is in a better place with Jesus, she will be missed by her Family and Friends. Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 9, 2003 at Delano Mortuary at 11:30 a.m. with Graveside Services following at North Kern Cemetery in Delano.
