Pastor Brett Strobel and Grants Pass Masonic Lodge No. 84 AF & AM will officiate. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Mr. Burns, 73, of Grants Pass, died Thursday (Dec. 13, 2001) at Three Rivers Community Hospital. Memorial contributions may be made to Newman United Methodist Church, Sixth and B streets, Grants Pass, OR 97526. He was born Feb. 4, 1928, in Geary, Okla. On Feb. 10, 1952, in Portland, he married Marian Doehring, who survives. In 1953, they moved Grants Pass from Portland. Mr. Burns owned and operated the OK Barber Shop from 1957 to 1992. He served on the school board for Grants Pass High School from 1968 to 1976. Mr. Burns had attended Newman United Methodist Church since 1953. He was a member of Grants Pass Masonic Lodge No. 84 AF & AM, Jaycees (lifetime member), Grants Pass Lions Club, Southern Oregon Racing Association and the Josephine County Planning Committee. He was also a member of the Oregon State Barber Board and the Josephine County Chamber of Commerce. He enjoyed showing chickens, horse racing, fishing and hunting. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Barbara Forth, Gresham; two sons, Steven, San Lorenzo, Calif., and Jim, Livermore, Calif.; a brother, Earl, Central Point; a sister, Helen Barnes, Mustang, Okla.; and four grandchildren.
