Glaesman was born November 3, 1927 in Hitchock, Oklahoma to Marie Josephine and John J. Glaesman. He passed away April 16, 2007 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 13 days. Edward graduated from Hitchock High School in 1946. He began working with his father on the farm. He was attending Oklaahoma City University majoring in Religion when he met and married Johnnie Faye Campbell on November 3, 1951 in Leedey, Oklahoma. They lived in Watonga when Ed entered the United States Army and served his country during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge he moved to Leedey, Oklahoma where he operated a Grade "A" Dairy until 1973 when a tornado blew the barns away. He continued to farm until his retirement in 1999 when they moved to Elk City to make their home. Edward was a dedicated Christian that read his bible daily. He was a member of the Red Star Brethern In Christ Church. After moving to Elk City they attended the Fairview Baptist Church. He had completed mission work in the 48 states as well as Belize, Central America, Australia, Phillipines, Trinidad and Tobago as well as twice to Africa over a 30-year period. Survivors include his wife Johnnie Faye of the home; 1 daughter Diane Darraj and husband, Frank, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 1 son Lyndon Glaesman and wife, Penny, of Picayune, MS; 1 brother Don Glaesman and wife Betty, of Wichita, Kansas; 1 sister Josie Nault and husband, Jim, of Watonga, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren Trista Wilson and husband, James, Scott Green and wife, Amanda, Jesse Glaesman and wife, Raelynne, Valeska Scholl and friend, Sigrid, and Strephen Glaesman; 10 great grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law Lucille Glaesman, Watonga, Oklahoma. Ed had served the Leedey School Board, Nursing Homes Board and the Red Star Water District. He was a volunteer for the Route 66 Farm Museum and Meals on Wheels. Services will be held Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Whinery- Savage Chapel officiated by Lyndon Glaesman and Kenneth Gamble. Burial will be at Red Star Cemetery under the direction of Whinery- Savage Funeral Service.
