Vigil services will be at 7 p.m. today in the chapel. Mass will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel. Burial will be at Forest Park Westheimer. Arrangements are by Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home of Houston. Mr. Gruber was born in Okeene, Okla., moving to Amarillo in his teens, and later to Houston in 1990. He was a graduate of Price College in Amarillo. He served in the Army from 1951 until 1953. He had been married for 43 years. He was a member of St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church. For the last four years, he had been retired after a 40-year career in the tire industry. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; three daughters, Cynthia McGinty and Kristi Gruber, both of Houston, and Teresa Kizer of Waco; three brothers, Gerald of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert of Amarillo; and Wayne of Jonesboro, Ark.; two sisters, Patricia Arnold of Sun City West, Ariz., and Eileen Detten of Amarillo; and two grandchildren.
