All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Turlock FH--Turlock CA Long, Kenneth Ray Kenneth Ray Long Dec. 29, 1950 - Mar. 16, 2007 Kenneth Ray Long passed away March 16, 2007, at home in the loving arms of his wife, Karen, in Turlock, CA. Kenneth was born in Okeene, OK, December 29, 1950 to Raymond and Gerry Long. In 1956 the family packed up and moved to Wasco, CA where Kenneth attended local schools. In high school Kenneth was an outstanding athlete and lettered in many sports. He was also very active in F.F.A. and was a great horseman, calf roping in many local rodeos. During high school he also found time to work with his father Raymond as a butcher at Big Star Market in Wasco. Like father, like son. After graduation from Wasco High School in 1969 he started his career in the meat industry working for Rudnick Meat Packers as an inspector, which remained his life career. He worked as a federal meat inspector in the Stockton-Turlock area for 30 years. Kenneth's "Second Career" was a bass fisherman. He competed in tournaments in Central and Northern CA, many with his son, Jeff. He was ANGLER OF THE YEAR 3 years running. His bass boat and fishing rods were never dry. The fish FEARED him! He was a member of the Bass Fisherman of California, Nor-Cal Bass and Stanislaus Bass. Kenneth is survived by high school sweetheart and wife of 36 years, Karen Paslay/Long; son, Jefferey and wife, Laura Long; granddaughter in 1 week Peyton of Denair; daughter, Jennifer Long; and granddaughter, Aubrie of Turlock; parents, Raymond and Gerry Long of Wasco; sister, Connie and husband, Bob Klingenberg of Bakersfield; brother, Allan and wife, Sheila Long of Bakersfield; and many cousins, nieces, nephews who loved him. Preceded in death by sister, Cheryl Long/Arriaga of Visalia. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 22nd, from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m., and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Friday, March 23rd, at Turlock Funeral Home Chapel.
