His grandfather moved to the United States from Scotland and the family eventually made their way to the San Joaquin Valley during the Dust Bowl era of the 1930s. After graduating from Delano High School in 1951, he enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class, serving a tour in Japan and Korea. Tim was honored with the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He was proud to have served his country and became a lifetime member of the VFW. Since retiring, Tim and his wife, Erma, enjoyed many happy times with close friends in the RV at Pismo Beach. Tim was passionate about golf, serving as golf chairman for both Bakersfield SIRS branches. His greatest love however, was for God and family. Tim and Erma regularly attended Sunday classes and services at Valley Baptist Church and loved this extended family. He lived his life for God and as an example to those he came to know and he never met a stranger. Although he will be deeply missed every day, we know he is in a better place with the Lord, watching over us until we are joined again. Tim is survived by his wife, Erma; their four children, Marsha Postma, Marshall, Lori and husband, Dwayne Keith, Teri and husband Matthew Riley; sister, Jean Lyons and husband, John; sister, Melita Price and brother, Bill; grandchildren, Mendi and husband Jason Bannister, Jason and wife, Melissa Postma, Josh Keith, Jared Brown, Austin Brown, Cody Keith, Kaitlan and Justin McNeillie and Landon Riley; great-grandchildren, Nicole and Hannah Postma and Ethan Bannister. Pallbearers are Dewayne, Josh, and Cody Keith, Matthew Riley, Jared and Austin Brown, and Mike Lyons. Psalm 90:10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF, Inc.), 1609 Garden Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
