He lived and worked on the farm, attending a small country school through the 8th grade, then graduating from Watonga High Schoiol in 1958. Dean moved to Nevada and stayed a few months with a sister and brother-in-law before moving to Amarillo, Texas where he began his career with Amarillo Coca-Cola Company and took night courses at West Texas College in Canyon, Texas. He retired from Coca-Cola in 1999 having started as a route salesman and being promoted to supervisor within 4 years of employment. The rest of his career was spent in management and he retired after 40 years of service. Dean met Sue Martin and they found they had a great deal in common, both growing up on farms in Oklahoma, each of them striking out on their owen at the tender age of 17, and they loved to dance to country music. Dean and Sue were married in Cheyenne, Oklahoma on May 19, 1963 and thus began an equal partnership in life. They were blessed by the birth of their son, David Martin Pearson on January 22, 1966. Neither of them was prepared for parenthood, but David gave them many joys in life and has taught them a lot, some of which they didn't want to learn. Dean accepted Christ as his eternal Savior at the age of 17. While never very outspoken about his personal relationship with Jesus, he had a strong, committed love for his Lord, something he prayed each of his family and friends might experience individually. Dean joined the South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo in 1965 and continued as a member there until moving to the farm in 2007 and joining the Magnolia Baptist Church, Crawford where he enjoyed serving until his health prevented his doing so. Those who knew Dean will remember him as a hard worker. He truly enjoyed physical labor and was distressed when he could no longer dig in the dirt, build fneces, prune trees or any of the outdoor activities he enjoyed so much. Until his illness he could, and would, do the work of 4 men half his age. As recently as July, someone made the comment that they knew Dean was not well because "now he only does the work of 2 people". He was a faithfuly and loving caregiver for Sue all of their married life. In addition to hard work, Dean enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening (and sharing his bountiful production with others), watching the Sooners beat the Longhorns, bragging about his beloved grandson, Adam, and dancing with his wife. Dean had been a hearty eater and greatly enjoyed visiting and eaing with friends. He missed being able to enjoy food the last 6 months of his life. On the morning of his death, Dean told his family he would loved to be able to take a drink of cool water. Dean was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Lucille Porter and Cleo Garrett, an infant sister, his father-in-law, Lloyd Martin and brother-in-law, Ronnie Martin. He is surviverd by his wife, Sue, of the family home, their Son, David Martin Pearson, Daughter "inlaw", Tressa, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Grandson, Adam Dean Pearson, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Sister, Darlene Sanders and husband Alvin, Del City, Oklahoma; 1 brother, Arlo Pearson, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mother-in-law, Margie Martin, Crawford, Oklahoma; Sisters-in-law, Lloydelle Lester and husband, Roger, Durham, Oklahoma; Christi Lanier, Lawrence, Kansas; brother-in-law Joe Martin, Sanger, California and "sorta son", Dirk Pittman, several nieces and nephews, and a vast number of other relatives and dear friends.
