Recently the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma was notified that this cemetery is in very bad condition. Poison ivy, poison sumac, chiggers and very tall weeds make it difficult to find all of the headstones. Only a few have been photographed at this time. The Choctaw Nation has a new program to clean up the old or neglected Indian cemeteries in the Choctaw Nation. Randy Heck of the Choctaw Nation assured my Mother (Phyllis Charline (Layman) Goar) that the cemetery would be taken care of and is on their list.
