His wife ABBIE, born January 10, 1877, March 2, 1954. Their children were; Pauline Colbert Nix Douglas C. Colbert Henrietta Colbert Elliott Frances Colbert Taylor James A. Colbert Charley came to Ft. Washita with parents as youth and lived most of life here. His father, JAMES ALLEN COLBERT came to I.T. over the trail of tears in early 1830’s. His mother ARTHENIUS MADELINE FOLSOM, was born at Eagletown, I.T. Holding the high office auditor, Chickasaw Nation, Charley Colbert was recognized as one of the nation’s most distinguished men. Upon Chickasaw Lands being allotted to individuals, Ft. Washita site assigned to Abbie Davis Colbert. Oklahoma Historical Society, in 1962, acquired Ft. Washita from heirs of Charley and Abbie Colbert.” A low rock wall surrounds a burial site which also contains the monument with the plaque quoted above. Just outside the wall-enclosed area is a gravesite with the following “Clarence H. Colbert, III - October 18, 1932” The following gravesites were observed inside the wall-enclosed area; 1. Father, W. Double stone for Clarence Henry Colbert, 1903 - 1989 and - 4. Madge Colbert, 1910 - 1992 5. Eggel Davis - 1869 - 1954 adjacent to ----- 6. Icy Davis - 1880 - 1936 7. Clarence Henry Colbert, 1863 - 1929 adjacent to --- 8. Rosabel Colbert, 1867 - 1956 9. Double stone for Charley Colbert, May 20, 1863 - June 13, 1955 and--------- 10.
