The impressive ceremony, read in the presence of members of the immediate family and close friends was performed by Rev. A.S. Eggner, retired pastor of the Methodist CHurch of Caddo. The vows were exchanged before an improvised altar made in a "V" shape centered with a white Christmas tree and flanked on either side with tall floor candelabras, baskets of white chrysanthemums and low white pottery bowls of chrysanthemums and calla lillies. A prayer bench was placed in front of the altar. The wedding music was played by Miss Sarah Goddard and Miss Bertha Brewer sang "I Love Thee". The bridal party entered to the strains of the wedding march. The bride was dressed in a pastel blue gabardine suit and wore a blue felt off-the-face hat with a long veil. Her accessories were nut brown, and she carried a bride's bouquet of pink rosebuds and stephano- tis. Her only attendant was her sister, Miss Marguerite Sipes, who wore a pastel pink woolen dress with brown accessories. Her bouquet was of red radiance rosebuds. Best man for the groom was Jim Steed of Caddo. Candles were lighted by Miss Tommye Gail Williamson, who chose a blue and black frock trimmed in black sequins. Her wrist corsage was pink and orchid baby mums. Miss Goddard was dressed in a green frock with which she wore brown accessories and a single bronze mum, while Miss Brewer chose a gold woolen suit and a corsage of white mums. RECEPTION AT HOME After the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Washington entertained with a small reception. The dining room was most attractive with a centerpiece of white chrysanthemums and tapers in silver candelabra being used on the reception table. The white three-tiered wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom under an arch of orange blossoms, was placed on one end of the table and the large crystal punch bowl on the other. A low square container of white calla lilies, snapdragons and chry- santheumums, with candelabra placed on either side, was used on the buf- fet, and a bouquet of the same flowers decorated a small table in the room. After the bride cut the first piece of the cake, Miss Nell Hogan served the guests and Miss Gwen Sharp, sister of the groom, presided at the punch bowl. Miss Hogan wore a brown dress and a corsage of pink mums, and Miss Sharp was dressed in black. Her flowers were white chry- santhemums. Miss Mildred McGraw, who presided at the guest book, was dressed in black and wore a pink carnation corsage. Both Mrs. Washington and Mrs. Sharp, mother of the groom, wore black ensembles and white carnation shoulder corsages. The young couple left immediately after the reception for a wedding trip to New Orleans. Guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Sharp, parents of the groom, J.T. Sharp, brother of the groom, Miss Gwen Sharp, sister of the groom, Calera; Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Haley, Miss Thelma Haley, Mrs. Ruth O'Dea, and Miss Bertha Brewer, Durant; and the Mesdames Vivia Locke, Jess Maytubby and A.S. Eggner, Caddo. NOTE: They were married 19 December 1941. Susan Sharp Lee
