Ervin, Richard Lee Army ---- Franklin, Sam --- ---- Giles, Angus M. --- Pfc. A. M. GILES Jr. was wounded in action in Holland Sept 24 according to word received from the War Dept. by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Angus GILES, Route 2. The message stated he had moved to a base hospital in England. A letter from their son written Oct 17 said he was recovering from his injuries. He has been overseas ten months and wrote his parents he felt very lucky not to have been wounded sooner as he had seen plenty of action. The first body to be returned to the Colbert, OK area and comes from the European theater of operations. (Paratrooper) Hamm, Marvin Edward, Rev.* Army Inducted in 1942, where he was assigned to Co. C. 3rd Tank Battalion, 10th Armored "Tiger" Division under the leadership of Gen. George Patton. Rev. Hamm drove a tank in the European Theater of Operations where he participated in the Rhineland Campaign. He was wounded in action on Nov. 21, 1944, near Sarrbrucken, Germany, and was decorated with the Purple Heart. He was separated from the Army in 1945, receiving the medals for Good Conduct, American Campaign, European- African-Middle-Eastern Campaign, WWII Victory, Army of Occupation with Germany Clasp and an Honorable Service Lapel Button WWII. Harris, Milton* Army Served in the Oklahoma National Guard from January of 1930 until June of 1939. He was inducted into active serice Sept. 16, 1940 and served 23 months in the Mediterranean theater of operations with the 315th Army service Forces Bands. He received an honorable discharge in June of 1945. Henson, Carl W. * Army Served from Dec. 17, 1941 until Jan. 1, 1965. In WWII, he served in he 17th and 18th F.A.B.N. in Germany, Italy, Africa, Sicily and France, staying in the army until 1945. He served in the Korean War, 19th F.A.B.N. from 1951 to 1953. He was in Germany and Korea during wars and went back again after the wars. He retired from the U.S. Army Field Artillery. He received the EAME Service ribbon with one silver service star, three bronze stars and one bronze arrowhead, Distinguished Unit Badge Go 44 WD 45, Good Conduct Medal and Croix de Guerre with Palm Orders of the day, 1st French Army 45. Buried with full military honors. Jackson, Ralph Eugene "Jack" Army Served n the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of operations with the 568th Signal Air Battalion and also served in the U.S. Army. Veteran of WWII and Korea. Julian, David Ray* Army 45th Infantry Div. He served in the Pacific, New Guinea, Phillipines and Japan. At the end of the war, he worked for the U.S. Army Strategic Communications Command as technical control specialist in the Washington D.C. area. He held the rank of Sgt. Major. He retired from the military and civil service. Kinsey, Amon Lee, Sr. * Marines Served active duty from Dec. 9, 1942 until Aug. 20, 1948. He retired in 1980 aftr 32 years with the Department of Defense where he worked as a contract specialist. Markham, Talmage --- ---- Marshall, Harold Max Navy ---- McKinney, Oliver Bernice Army Served from Jan. 16, 1942 to March 10, 1945. Served in Papuan and New Guinea Campaign. He earned the Asiatic- Pacific Theater Ribbon, two Bronze stars, Good Conduct Ribbon and Distinguished Unit Badge. Mooney, Webney William --- Served in the European Theater during WWII in 1946. He reinlisted in the regular army in 1948. In 1949, he returned to the Far East Okinowa with the 58th ORD. VFW Post 3916 of Durant, OK conducted military graveside services.
