"Buster" Baker, 75, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Dr. Howard K. Batson, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Baker was born in Durant, Okla., and graduated from Hedley High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He later received a technical degree from Amarillo College. Mr. Baker retired as metrologist from Pantex. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a Mason. He married Jane Ruth Hall in 1945 at Hedley. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Belcher of Amarillo; a son, Warren H. Baker of Canyon; three sisters, Mildred Pletcher of Perryton, Margaret Lair of Spearman and Kathryn Jones of Memphis; a brother, Bob Baker of Sunray; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The family will be at 4405 Olsen Blvd., on Friday. They suggest memorials be to Crown of Texas Hospice, 1000 S. Jefferson, Amarillo, TX 79101.
