All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Democrat Anita Mae Boyd, 84 A service for Anita Mae Boyd, 84, Bokchito, who passed away Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. in the Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant. ========= Durant Democrat Anita Mae Boyd, 84 Anita Mae Boyd, 84, Bokchito, Oklahoma, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2004, in Durant after a long illness. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2004, in the Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Randy Lewis will officiate. Anita Mae was born August 30, 1920, in Weatherford, Texas, to Hollis Abner King and Lona Jane (Wampler) King. She was a member of the Blue Baptist Church. Anita lived in Bryan County since 1959. She was married to Dural Moore Boyd in October 9, 1940. Anita was a very hardworking woman and a very wonderful and precious mother and grandmother. She believed very strongly that family was very important. Anita was a mentor to her whole family. She was not only a fishing guide for all the grandchildren, but also the greatest cow-caller. Anita was so very much a Christian, and her faith was very strong. Anita was a lover of music and loved to sing. She loved beautiful flowers. Anita was the owner of Boyd's Plantland. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Anita was preceded in death by her parents Hollis and Lona Jane King; husband Dural Boyd in 1979; son Gary Wayne Boyd in 2000; and brother Bruce Edward King in 2000. She is survived by two sons: Allan Ross Boyd and wife Debby and Dennis Dural Boyd and wife Sherlyn, both of Bokchito, Oklahoma; daughter Linda Gale Maxey and husband Roger of Antlers, Oklahoma; sister Mildred Fern Cantrell of Sterling City, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 10 great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma, with Porter Maxey, Steven Maxey, Chancy Maxey, Jason Boyd, Jacob Boyd and Isaac Flowers serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are granddaughters Brook Parker, Shanna Johnson, Cedar Flowers, Amanda Elkurd, Taylor Boyd and Jennifer Davis; also Jurdas Boyd, Eugene Boyd, J.B. Rankin, Ovoid Boydstun and Roy Boatner. Family hour will be at the funeral home today from 6-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Blue Baptist Church.
