All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Durant Daily-Democrat 16 Dec 2004 Jo Ann Butler, 60 Services are pending with Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for Jo Ann Butler, 60, Durant, who died today at Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. ========= Durant Daily-Democrat 18 Dec 2004 Jo Ann Butler, 60 A service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Western Meadows Baptist Church for Jo Ann Butler, 60, Durant, who died Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2004, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Rev. Rodney Cook will officiate. She was born Wednesday, June 28, 1944, in Needles, Calif., to John and Evelyn (Davis) Morgan. She married George Butler Sr. July 26, 1969, in Reno, Nev. She was a member of the Western Meadows Baptist Church, B.P.W. and was associated with Families Feeding Families. Her church and family was her passion. She taught schools in California, Texas and Oklahoma and loved working with ceramics, traveling with her husband and cooking and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Glenda Palmer. She is survived by her husband, son George Butler Jr., Durant, daughter Desireé McCullough and husband Jeff, Martin, Tenn.; brother Bill Morgan and wife Lin, Elk Grove, Calif., sister-in-law Barbara Vanoven, North Richland Hills, Texas; brother-in-law Jerry Palmer, McAlester; nephew Scott Palmer and wife Julie, Coral Springs, Fla.; nieces Suzette White and husband Jacky, Haywood, and Jennifer Morgan, Elk Grove; grandnieces and nephews Jessica and Cole Palmer and Jordan and Jessy White. Also surviving her are numerous other family and friends. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Colbert, with pallbearers Benny Bowles, Michael "Brownie" Brown, Jerry Laney, Merle Devereaux, Tommy Hearon, Paul May, Carl Meade and Dean Robinson. Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
