Father Charles Murphy will officiate. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery in Calera. The son of Willie E. and Inez Brown Black, he was born Nov, 1, 1920, in Calera. He was a WWII veteran serving in Africa and Europe and was a sergeant in the Army Air Corps. He then worked for the Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base and retired in 1974. He married Irene Blados on Oct. 3, 1942, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister George Crow and a grandson.
