Wayne Delmo Brooks Wayne Delmo Brooks, 77, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Jim Bankhead officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Brooks was born Oct. 3, 1926, in Caddo, Okla. He married Norma Joy Litchfield on Sept. 7, 1946, in Higgins. He served with the Merchant Marines during World War II. Mr. Brooks was a construction engineer working in the engineering division for Texas Department of Transportation for 40 years. He belonged to Allegro Panhandlers Club and Caprock Cruisers. He was a member First Presbyterian Church and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by a brother, Sam Brooks. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Gail Kennedy and husband, Mike, of Paris, Sue Diggs of Lubbock and Teresa Faris and husband, Dr. Bud, of Dumas; six sisters, Daphine Traywick and husband, Paul, of Abbeville, La., Connie Hallson and husband, Bud, of Hay, Wash., Vona Benge and husband, Burl, and Paulette King and husband, Buddy, all of Canadian, Zelda Robertson and husband, Bill, of Muleshoe, and Kay Taylor and husband, Jerry, of Ardmore, Okla.; nine grandchildren, Keely, Seth, Marissa, Kristin, Sara, Keegan, Kara, Kyle and Jakie; and four great- grandchildren, Ashleigh, Alycia, Breckan and Logan. The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church, 1100 S. Harrison St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
