Wednesday, November 5, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Imateen Burkhalter, 76 Services are pending with Coffey-Murray Funeral Home for Imateen Burkhalter, 76, Calera, who died today in Durant. ============= Thursday, November 6, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Imateen Burkhalter, 76 A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Durant, for Imateen Burkhalter, 76, Calera, who died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, in Durant. Family hour is 6-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ============= Friday, November 7, 2003 Durant Daily Democrat Imateen Burkhalter, 76 A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church, Durant, for Imateen Burkhalter, 76, Calera, who died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Pastor Darel Bunch, Bro. Jim Pena and Pastor Jay Willoughby will officiate. She was born Saturday, Oct. 22, 1927, in Yuba, to Dewey and Myrtle (Miller) Benedict. She married C. L. ‘Bill’ Burkhalter June 23, 1945, in Durant. She was a homemaker, a lifelong Bryan County resident and attended Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and going to flea markets and garage sales with her husband. Her favorite past time was watching the Texas Rangers play baseball. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Rebecca Ann Burkhalter and brother Clyde Benedict. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with pallbearers Dennis Pena, Danny Anderson, Bobby Anderson, Rickey Burkhalter, Charles Maxey, Stephen Burkhalter, Greg Burkhalter and Charles Anthony. All her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family hour is 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
