All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Wesley John Barker June 1, 1923 - June 2, 2005 Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jack Lee will officiate. A visitation will also be held on Monday, June 6, 2005, from 4-8 p.m. Wes passed away on June 2, 2005. Wes was born on June 1, 1923, in Bennington, Oklahoma, to Carrie and Marshall Barker. His surviving brothers are, Bob and Wayne Barker; and his sister, Margaret. Wes was a successful businessman. His Cherokee, German, and Irish heritage helped him develop a work ethic that saw him through many difficult times. He enjoyed his family and many friends, including those at Westchester Bowl Coffee Shop, Rasmussen Senior Center, and Coronado Baptist Church. He was also a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and step-father who will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Jerrie. He is survived their son, Dale; and daughter, Brenda Wright and family. Wes is survived by his second wife, Ruth Barker; six stepchildren, Michael Deuerling, Shirley Brown, Jeannette Blackwood, Julie Wade, Lynn Kritsch, and John Deuerling; his extended family who loved him dearly; and numerous other relatives and friends.
