Behrens, 87, Caddo, who died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at his residence. ================== Durant Daily Democrat Monday, January 26, 2004 John F. Behrens, 87 A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Armstrong Baptist Church for John Behrens, 87, Caddo, who died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004, at his residence. The Revs. Ray Mayhue and Jody Shires will officiate. The son of John Edward and Sudie Belle Behrens, he was born Saturday, Aug. 19, 1916, in Rivera, Texas. He married Effie Marie Paddock Dec. 12, 1939, in Durant. Mr. Behrens was member of Armstrong Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force 1943-45 as a glider mechanic in France and England. He loved dominoes and regularly attended Oprys at Caddo and Mead. He loved watching old western movies and sporting events. John loved his grandkids, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Preceding him in death were his parents, wife, brother Carl Behrens; sisters Ila Mae Behrens, Alma Thompson and Ruth Behrens; son John Edward Behrens, and granddaughter Gena Stanley. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Caddo, with John Behrens Jr., Paul McMichael, Jason Behrens, Rick Ogle, Brandon Behrens, Julian Behrens, Justin Mullens, Spencer Mullens, Richard Ogle and Roger Behrens serving as pallbearers. VFW Post No. 3916 will conduct military graveside services. Family hour is 7-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
